Information kept on your Mac

Tidest identifies app windows and reads their titles, owning apps, positions, and sizes to arrange, switch, and dock windows. The docked list, order, and window previews are stored on your Mac. Enabling Keep also saves folder paths, Terminal directories, or browser tabs for reopening. This information is not uploaded to Tidest servers.

Tidest does not automatically upload window contents or diagnostic logs. You can manage Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Anonymous usage analytics

Tidest uses PostHog hosted in the United States to count daily active installations. Opening a Tidest panel or interacting with Tidest records one active event per day in the Asia/Shanghai time zone, containing a locally generated random installation identifier, the event time, and app version. Running in the background does not create new active events.

Analytics do not upload window titles, window contents, file paths, docked items, accounts, or machine serial numbers. Session recording and person profiles are not enabled, and IP geolocation enrichment is disabled. Offline events stay on your Mac and are retried when you next use Tidest. Transport services may still process IP addresses and other network information.

The website also sends installer-button click events to PostHog, containing a random browser identifier, installer file name, version, and page language. The browser identifier is held in local storage and can be deleted through browser settings. A download click does not prove a completed download or installation.

Website visits

tidest.app uses Google Analytics to understand basic traffic such as page visits, approximate location, and device and browser type. When Google Analytics is configured, the website loads it when the page opens and it may set cookies used to distinguish users and sessions. Tidest disables ad storage and advertising-personalization signals.

Clicking the public installer button records a download_click event that may include the installer URL, file name, version, and page language. This event means that a download was requested; it does not prove that the file finished downloading or was installed.

Your website language choice is stored in browser local storage. You can limit Google Analytics through your browser cookie settings or content-blocking features.

Hosting services deliver the website and installer. They may process IP addresses, request times, browser details, and request headers to deliver content, prevent abuse, and secure the service.

Purposes and sharing

Usage analytics help us understand daily active installations, page visits, and download clicks. Tidest does not sell personal information.

Information is handled by PostHog, Google Analytics, and website and file-hosting services only where needed for those purposes, or disclosed to authorities when required by law. These services may process data outside your country or region.

Your choices and rights

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings and use content-blocking features. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by Tidest, and to exercise restriction, objection, or portability rights where applicable.

Security and updates to this notice

Tidest uses HTTPS to protect data in transit, but no network service can guarantee absolute security.
